A Complete Angsana Teluk Bahang Review : Best Sunset By The Pool

Table of content

Last month, I spent my holiday with my family to a Penang hotel staycation.

It was our family tradition since young to go for a beach resort staycation for short holiday. And this time, we went to stay at Angsana Teluk Bahang.

Angsana Teluk Bahang is the first Angsana brand in Malaysia, managed by Banyan Group. Since its opening, this place has become one of the trending hotspots on Instagram, where many people come to stay and take photos.

In this Angsana Teluk Bahang review, I will share my honest thought about this hotel.

Checking In

We reached the hotel at around 4pm in the afternoon.

It was quite easy to find a parking in the underground car park for hotel guest.

Then, we proceeded to check in our room at the hotel lobby. The check in process was quick and no deposit was required. However, I was a little disappointed with the service at the front desk as the receptionist wasn’t really friendly. We were not greeted with a smile by the receptionist and this was not what I was expecting from a 5 star hotel at the very least.

And it was also the first 5 star hotel I visited without offering any welcome drinks.

Deluxe Seaview Room

For our stay, we had the Deluxe Seaview room type.

The room was bigger than standard room and can accommodate up to 3 persons with a sofa bed.

I like that the bed was facing the sea. Although the sea view from the room was half-obstructed by the trees, we could still hear the sound of waves vividly.

Similar to its lobby designs and decoration, the room exudes a sense of modernity with a mix of dark tone colour which created a cozy ambience.

The room was spacious and provided ample space to relax with the panoramic window to enjoy the view.

The drinks from the minibar were complimentary. Only need to pay if you request for refill.

The king-sized bed offered comfort, although there was a slight letdown with the pillows provided. The pillows were a little too soft and not firm which were not to my liking.

One of the favourite things I liked about the room was the spacious bathroom that comes with a bathtub!

The toilet and the shower room were separated. There were soft robes and slippers to use and the toiletries were smelling good.

The Facility

The adult swimming pool and gym were located at the third floor of the hotel. The infinity pool was pretty big.

What I liked the most was the sunset lounge which also has a pingpong table. We had so much fun at the pool and also playing pingpong together.

I think the sunset lounge is also a perfect place to sit and relax while waiting for the amazing sunset view.

Buffet Breakfast

Each of our room comes with two complimentary breakfast. Their buffet breakfast was served at the swimming pool area at third floor.

The next morning, we went for breakfast at around 8:45 am and it was already crowded. We had to queue a while for our turn.

The buffet style was international and it has quite big range of options. However, it was very standard and tasted ordinary.

Checking Out

On check out day, we made the most of our day relaxing at the beach after the breakfast in the morning and then it was time to check out and head home.

Till next time!

Overall Impression

Overall, the staycation experience was great because I got to be together with my family!

Angsana Teluk Bahang offered a standard hotel services and quality. However, I have stayed in several good beach side hotels in Penang and Angsana Teluk Bahang was certainly not my favourite ones.

Despite the good bed, nice bathroom and sunset lounge, I actually don’t think it was worth the stay. I could get a better quality stay with same price range in Penang.
