Mangga Cafe At The Blue Mansion @ Penang Review

My mom and I finally get to try this famous Cafe Mangga in Penang after several attempts.

Tucked away within the historic walls of the Blue Mansion in the busy heritage area in Penang, it is pretty hard to find a parking nearby Mangga Cafe especially during weekends. This time, we finally get to visit during weekdays.

Mangga Cafe At The Blue Mansion

The Café Mangga is part of the famous heritage mansion : The Blue Mansion. As we step into Café Mangga , we’re greeted by a charming fusion of old-world elegance and modern comfort.

The fusion of blue, white and yellow tones in the café’s design creates a delightful Mediterranean-inspired vibe.

They have an al fresco dining area and an indoor seating area for diners to choose. Whether you choose to bask in the courtyard’s tranquil charm or cozy up indoors, the ambiance here feels like a comforting hug from Penang’s rich heritage.

If you visit in the early morning when the air is still cool, it’s ideal to opt for outdoor seating to fully enjoy the refreshing ambiance.

Breakfast & Brunch Menu

Mangga cafe offers a wide range of brunch and breakfast options.

Mangga actually means “mango” in Malay. Hence, you’ll notice there are one or two dishes with mango themes included in each category.

The price of the mains are on the medium range compared to most of the cafes in Penang.

My mom ordered a burger mains while I ordered their aglio olio. We enjoyed both their burgers and coffee, although the aglio olio didn’t quite suit our tastes. It was overly seasoned with cheese on top, which was a disappointment for us as we both prefer dishes without cheese.

In short, our experience at Mangga Café at the Blue Mansion was nothing short of delightful.

From the enchanting ambiance that transports you to another era to the tantalizing flavours that celebrate Penang’s culinary heritage, every moment spent here is a treasure to be savoured. A major plus point for me was the décor and their selection of colours for the interior design.

While every dish may not have been a perfect match for our tastes, the overall dining experience was a journey of discovery and enjoyment.  Whether you’re a local looking for a culinary escape or a traveler seeking to immerse yourself in Penang’s rich culture, Mangga Café at the Blue Mansion is a must-visit destination that promises an unforgettable dining experience.
