Amara Singapore Review : Perfect Hideaway In Central SG

Table of content

I got a chance to stay in the hotel Amara Singapore when I visited my sister in Singapore. It was my first time staying at this renowned hotel, and I was excited to experience the renowned hospitality and luxury that Amara Hotel is known for.

It was our family trip and we were seeking accommodation that would provide a convenient location, situated between the city centre and my sister’s residence in Tampines.

We were surveying several hotels that would offer easy access to both areas, allowing us to explore the city’s attractions while also staying close to my sister’s place.

After reviewing a few hotels within our budget range, we finally decided to stay at Amara Singapore for 3 days and 2 nights.

It is located at Tanjong Pagar, and the Tanjong Pagar MRT station is only a walking distance away from the hotel.

Checking In Amara Singapore

We took a Grab car ride from the airport to Amara Singapore, and after a smooth and comfortable journey, we arrived at the hotel lobby in just 25 minutes.

As we stepped into the hotel’s lobby, I was amazed by the lobby’s spacious and high ceiling layout which provided a welcoming and classy atmosphere.

My sister proceeded to the check in counter to complete the check in process. As usual, our passports were required and deposit was collected for check in. Overall the check in process was pleasant and smooth.

Executive Room

We got ourselves a Executive Room type to stay for the next 2 days.

The executive room is a double bed room with private shower. I like the room size of this executive room because it is larger than average hotel typically found in hotels in Singapore, especially considering the room’s price point.

The room size is standard. As we entered the room, we noticed a conveniently placed closet on the right side. Continue to the room is the bed and sofa.

However, we discovered that the double bed in the Executive room was actually composed of two single beds joined together.

The bed is comfortable, with the writing table and TV set in front of the bed. The writing table in the Executive room was equipped with all the necessary plugs and outlets, catering to the needs of guests who require a functional workspace for business purposes.

To my surprise, the bathroom has a separate walk-in shower and bathtub. The bathroom had an older design for a five star rated hotel in Singapore, yet it was well-maintained and clean throughout.

The Breakfast

The room comes with a complimentary breakfast buffet for two person.

The breakfast was served at the restaurant called Element at ground floor which is just beside the lobby. The breakfast buffet at Element offered a generous serving time, available from 6:00 am to 10:30 am. This extended timeframe was notable as it provided guests with ample flexibility and convenience, especially compared to the usual operating hours of most of the other hotel buffets.

The breakfast buffet offered a range of international cuisine from western style to local style breakfast.

They also have live cooking stations where skilled chefs prepared made-to-order egg dishes.

We savoured a delectable assortment of pastries, bread, and cereals, accompanied by an array of jams, spreads, and fresh fruits. For those who preferred a heartier start to the day, there were hot selections such as sausages, bacon, and grilled vegetables.

The Facilities

We did not have time to explore the facilities due to our busy schedules. However, the staff did introduce to us the facilities they have in the hotel when we check in.

Overall, Amara Singapore offers a standard range of facilities like swimming pool and fitness centre for the guests.

Check-Out Amara Singapore

At the third morning of our stay, we proceeded with check out at the same counter in the hotel lobby.

The check out process was quick and easy. And the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Overall Impression

These ratings are based on my personal experiences:

Room Comfort
Room View
Value for Money

Overall, we had a pleasant yet memorable experience staying in the Executive Room at Amara Singapore Hotel.

The hotel is suitable for family trip as well as business trip due to its prominent location which is close to the MRT station. Nevertheless, the hotel is also only few steps away from the famous restaurant and dining areas in Tanjong Pagar.

Despite not having the ultra-modern aesthetics of some other chains like Mariott Group or Sheraton, Amara Singapore ensures that its rooms are well-maintained, providing a clean and comfortable environment for guests.
